Our FAVORITE staycation

It's Friday and I'm finally back from vacation!!! Amazing what a few days away from the computer/blogging world can do. I missed you all, but it was nice to have some time with my family. Someday, when I get all fancy, maybe I can do some posts ahead of time and then set them to post on days when I'm away. But until then, you just get a break.
So without futher ado, I'd love to share my Friday favorite....our staycation in Seattle! My hubby and I knew we wanted to do something for spring break, with the kids, but because we just did a major 2-week Maui trip in December, it needed to be low key. When one of my best friends called with the idea for a staycation in Seattle, we jumped on it! Being tourists in our own city, sounded like the perfect plan.
We loaded up the kids and the car and set out on an adventure. It's amazing how much gear is required, even when you are only traveling one hour from home! ;-)

We purchased a Seattle City Pass, which allows you to choose 5 activities (there are 7 to choose from) to use within 9 days. We started with the Woodland Park Zoo. One of my favorite places!! Between our two families, we have 6 kids....ages 9, 8, 7, 5, 3 and 1. Whew. I knew the trip would be fun, but also very busy!

Brylie was in no mood to have her picture taken at that moment. Ha!

After we were done with the zoo, we packed the kids up and headed over to the Seattle waterfront to board the Argosy ship for a little cruise along the coast. We really couldn't have ordered up better weather for the end of March. Clear sunny skies made for a perfect day!

Finally, we headed back to the hotel to check in and find somewhere to eat. The kids were starving!!! We stayed at the gorgeous Hyatt Olive 8, which was in the heart of the shopping district in Seattle. Um, perfect.
After a late dinner and an even later hotel pool swim, the kids were wiped and slept very well. But morning came early, which meant Starbucks was on the agenda for mom and dad. And frankly, where else would a true Seattle-ite have breakfast?!

It's funny how the kids were most excited about the pool, over anything else! They are little fish and would have stayed in all day if we let them. This hotel pool did not disappoint! What you can't see is the incredible views from all of the windows, looking right into the downtown area.

And with that, we were off to our first stop of day #2, the Pacific Science Center. Our kids have been many times, but it's the coolest each and every time we go.

Our fourth stop on the City Pass was the Space Needle. It's crazy to think that this was the first trip to the top for Adam and our kids. Say what?! Adam is not a fan of heights AT ALL, so this was a huge stretch for him. I think he enjoyed it and the kids loved it!!! Jake's mission was to locate Husky Stadium from the top, while Brett wanted to find our house.

Brylie was such a trooper! She was suffering from a double ear infection, but hung in there as best she could!

Our fifth and final stop on the City Pass was the Seattle Aquarium. And it never disappoints!

When we were done at the museum, we headed up to Pike's Place Market....because you can't go to Seattle without doing that. So beautiful!!

I hope your spring break was amazing! It's hard to believe that it's already Friday and spring break is coming to an end. Whhhaaaaa?!?! I don't think I can say TGIF! It's going way too fast!
